Summer Cleaning Part 2

Welcome back to Summer Cleaning Part 2! In our last post, we shared a resource from “Clean My Space” about home cleaning tips. As we know, a clean home is even better when it is organized! But, it may feel like an overwhelming project to start. In today’s post, we are sharing another video from “Clean My Space,” which includes awesome tips for how to start organizing.

“5 Easy Ways to Declutter Your Home! (Clean My Space)”

*Newspapers/Magazines
1. Decide on a routine for when you will read these
2. Take out and file away (in a binder) the pages that you want to keep
3. Choose who you will pass along the rest to

*Closets
1. Figure out which clothing items you are wearing (by turning the direction of the hanger!)
2. Part ways with the items you are not wearing

*2 Bins
1. The first bin becomes the dedicated bin for the items you want to donate
2. The second bin becomes the spot for items you are thinking about donating (then, if they stay there for a few months, they can move over to the donation bin)

*Mail
1. Use bins to sort
2. Consider talking to your mail company about “junk mail”
3. A shredder can be useful for getting rid of mail with personal information
4. You can use Apps in place of paper coupons

*Kitchen
1. Organize your utensil drawer by putting everything in a bin for 30 days in order to see which items you are and are not using (once you use it, put it back in the drawer then consider what is left and part with what you no longer need!)
