Bonfire Safety Tips

With the official start of summer nearing, it is important to think about how to stay as safe as possible when enjoying your favorite warm-weather activities! A beautiful, summer night may be the perfect time to sit around the bonfire and make delicious s’mores (August 10th is National S’mores Day!). *Make sure you have enough space around your bonfire. Build it away from sheds, trees, and fences.
*Be very aware of what you are burning (ex. avoid glass and plastic).
*Keep pets away or inside.
*Have materials nearby like water and sand.
*Keep a safe distance away.
*Attend to the bonfire at all times.
